A little bit about A Chef's Daughter

For a majority of my younger childhood life, my father was a line cook at the Mandarin Hotel in Downtown San Francisco. While the hours were rough and the day to day tasks hard on the body, my father expressed to me various times that one of his dream careers growing up was to be a chef.

My father has retired from his cooking days over 15 years ago, choosing to pivot to other career options to be a more active part of me and my sister’s upbringing, but to this day he still nourishes and cooks lavish meals for me and our family parties.

Like so many other asian families, love is one of the deepest ways you can express “I love you.” While my cooking skills are subpar compared to my father and my much more experienced relatives, I hope to bring a slice of my day to day home cooking tips and recipes so you can treat your loved ones to a “I love you” meal.
